What Dry Cleaning process does Emerson Cleaners use?

We use the GreenEarth® Dry Cleaning process, the most environmentally friendly dry cleaning process available. This licensed product is approved only for select dry cleaners. Do not accept imitations!  Green Earth® cleaning fluid is 100% pure liquid silicone, which is also used in thousands of personal care products that you use everyday, such as deodorants, shampoos, skin lotions, makeup etc.

Why is that better?

It’s better because we use no hazardous chemicals. No perc and no petrochemicals. The main ingredient in liquid silicone is sand-plain simple sand which the earth has been creating naturally for billions of years. There is nothing to dirty the air, contaminate the soil or pollute the water.

Sometimes when I get my clothes back from other cleaners there is a smell to them. Why?

The smell comes mainly from the use of solvents containing petrochemicals and the ability of the solvent to absorb odors. No matter what they do by using solvents containing petrochemicals there will always be some odor. Our process uses no petrochemicals and the solvent is inert, so your clothes are returned to you cleaner, brighter and without that “dry cleaning” odor.

I see signs at other cleaners that they do Organic Dry Cleaning. What is that?

When you see the word ‘organic” you usually think of the AGRICULTURAL definition of organic: In a natural state, unaltered, and without chemicals. What they are not telling you is that they are using the very different CHEMICAL definition of organic: a string of carbon atoms attached in the chemical structure. It does not mean that the product is in a natural state and unaltered. An example of an organic chemical product is gasoline. Would you want to clean your clothes in gasoline?

So, those Organic Cleaners are just trying to trick us?

Right. Their “textbook” use of the word organic is misleading you. It’s all about marketing and hiding the fact that their product is a petrochemical. It’s derived from crude oil and refined. No matter what they tell you, it is a petroleum product.

And your GreenEarth® process uses no petrochemicals?

We use only pure liquid silicone in our dry cleaning. That’s why we are different.
